Meet Someone Special
Tips, Tips, Tips...

...for writing introductions and profiles

* Post a picture - Evidence points to increased responses for people who post photos, about ten times as many. Don't be shy, post your best photo and see what happens.

* Be unique - What makes you different, what makes you special. Say something that makes you stand out, that will pique someone's interest and generate responses.

* Be positive - Upbeat and happy will get you more attention than negative and depressed. We all have our own “stuff” to deal with. Keep yours under wraps.

* Be passionate - What gets your motor running - injustice, world hunger, human rights? People want to know what moves you, what's at your core.

* Tell it like it is - Don't say you are 6 feet and 175 pounds if you are 5 feet and can't see your toes. This will come back to bite you.  Describe yourself honestly, warts and all.

* Be real - Talk about your values, your goals, your beliefs. People want to know what makes you tick and how they can relate to you.

* Leave them laughing - A great way to make an impression is to make them laugh.  Some people believe a good sense of humor is a sign of intelligence. It always gets my attention.

* Be clear - Lay out what sort of relationship you want and what type of person you are looking for.  The more specific you are, the closer to your ideal match you will get.  Saves lots of time weeding through and deleting people.

* Be brief - Say what you want but don't be too wordy.  Your intro should be longer than a classified but shorter than War and Peace.  People are turned off by too much verbiage.
